Postal Incident - Palestine Mail Van Fire during Rioting

Ref: G5469
  • £125.00

1938 charred cover to Palestine that was in a postal van that was set on fire during riots by Arabs. Being addressed to a military soldier, no cachet was applied to explain the damage. The cover was returned to his father, the sender probably wanting to show him the damage done, and has a Palestine 10m cancelled 6 NO 38. A very interesting item from the rioting in Palestine at that time.
