1953 6c registered envelope to England with a 3c, pair of 6c and a 24c added to pay the 45c rate, cancelled ANSE-LA-RAYE 26 FE 53. A Trinidad 2 MR transit cancel is on the reverse. Anse-La-Raye is situated on the western side of St Lucia. It is a scarce postmark. Fine.
1947 3d Registered Envelope to the USA with a 1d, 2½d and 3½d added cancelled VIEUX-FORT 1 AP 47. On the reverse are New York 16 MY and Miami 17 MAY 47 transit and arrival cancels.
1885 envelope sent locally bearing an overprinted 'THREE PENCE / REVENUE' on deep blue stamp, cancelled St Lucia JY 25 85. Fine and uncommon.
1893 cover, addressed to Castries, bearing a ½d and a ONE HALF PENNY on 3d, with variety 'overprint inverted' (S.G. 56b), the stamp placed upside down to show the
surcharge upright, each tied by St Lucia c.d.s. MR 8 93. A rare example of this
variety used on cover.
