1900 Boer War - 1900 censored envelope to Middelburg Laager, bearing a Natal ½d and pair of 1ds cancelled DURBAN JA 11 00. The cover has been censored in manuscript Passed Brooke by the British censors and then censored in Pretoria with Boer Type 3 censor tape that has been tied by a Pretoria 17 JA 00 datestamp. The cover went via Lourenco Marques where it was backstamped 14 JAN 00. A very unusual cover as it would appear to be going to a Boer combatant, and one would think that the British authorities in Natal would have refused its passage to the Transvaal.
