1866 mourning envelope to Guernsey, endorsed 'Via Marseille' bearing a strip of four 1d's and a 6d, paying the 10d rate, lightly cancelled by barred obliterators. (Proud K1) Each stamp has manuscript initials as well. A red KANDY PAID MAR 15 66 datestamp is on the front, on the back is a Guernsey AP 12 66 arrival cancel. Fine, 2011 B.P.A. Cert.

1859 envelope to Golspie,Scotland, endorsed 'Via Marseille', franked with a 1d, 2d and 6d (S.G. 2a, 3 & 6) all with good margins other than the 2d which is just touched at the top, lightly tied by barred cancellers. Galle Steamer Letter OC 27 1859 and Golspie NO 29 1859 datestamps are on the back of the cover. A most attractive cover. B.P.A. 1996 certificate.
1942 Red Cross Postal Message Scheme envelope to Switzerland franked with a 2c and four 6c, cancelled COLOMBO 22 OC 42. A circular Red Cross cachet and boxed Passed L/7 censor strike are on the front of the cover along with a straight line 'Coupon Response' handstamp.
1916 censored envelope to Norway franked with a 15c (V.B. Perfin) cancelled by a poor COLOMBO datestamp. A boxed CENSOR 11 OCT 1916 COLOMBO is on the face of the cover and sealing tape with 'Opened by the Censor' handstamped on both the back and the front is at the left of the cover. On the reverse are Kristiania 8 XI 16 arrival cancels. The cover has been opened out for display and there is some damage to the reverse when opened. An unusual destination.
1941 6c postal stationery envelope, censored to the USA with a pair of 2c and a 15c added, paying the 25c rate, cancelled UDUVIL 25 MY 41. The cover has been opened and resealed by censor tape at the left. Fine.
1915 censored envelope to Denmark bearing a 15c tied by a COLOMBO 15 JUL 15 roller cancel. The cover was opened and resealed with tape that has 'OPENED BY THE CENSOR' on it as well as a boxed 'CENSOR 16 JUL 1915 COLOMBO' cachet. A Copenhagen 9.8.15. arrival cancel is on the front of the cover.
1918 censored envelope to India bearing a 5c tied NUWARE ELIYA 10 OV 18. A violet triple ring 'Passed Censor / 1 / Dhanushkodi' censor cachet is on the front of the cover. On the reverse is a Bombay 15 OC 18 arrival c.d.s. Nuware Eliya is a town in the hill country of central Ceylon. Dhanushkodi, where the cover was censored, is a town at the southern tip of Rameswaram Island, between Ceylon and India, about 18 miles West of Talaimannar in Ceylon. A very scarce censor strike from this small Ceylon island.
1893 10c registered envelope to England additionally franked with a pair of 5c on 15c and a 20c on 64c (SG 233 & 143) tied by barred 'A' oblitorators and a red COLOMBO REGISTERED OC 30 93. Hooded London Registered arrival cancels are on the front of the cover. The 20c stamp is very scarce on cover.
1867 envelope to England, endorsed 'Via Marseilles' bearing a 10d lightly tied by a COLOMBO JY 30 67 duplex canceller. A Leamington AU 28 67 arrival c.d.s. Is on the back. Fine.
1894 envelope to England bearing five 2c and a 5c tied by CINNAMON GARDEN R. O. 13 SP 94 datestamps. On the reverse are Colombo SP 13 and Leeds OC 1 94 transit and arrival cancels. Fine.
1885 internally used 2½ Cents on 6c post card, overprinted 'The price is / Three Cents / including the card' (H & G 7) cancelled by Galle duplex obliterator, with a Colombo Paid JU 25 85 arrival datestamp on the front. The card had had a filing hole repaired, but this barely detracts. Scarce.
1869 envelope to Lintithgow, Scotland, bearing a 2d yellow, 10d orange and a 1d blue (damaged at the top) all tied by Colombo duplex MY 29 69 cancels. On the reverse is a Linlithgow JU 28 69 arrival datestamp. A most attractive and colourful franking to pay the 1/1d rate.
1871 double rate entire to Scotland bearing a pair of 1/- reddish violet (SG71b) tied by 'A' obliterators with a Colombo Paid OC 14 71 datestamp alongside. On the reverse is a Linlithgow NO 11 71 arrival c.d.s. Small fault to the right 1/- stamp, otherwise a fine and attractive item.
1870 envelope to England endorsed 'via Marseille', bearing a 4d rose-carmine and 9d bistre-brown (SG 65b & 69) lightly tied by a COLOMBO FE 8 70 duplex canceller. On the reverse is a Weymouth MR 7 70 arrival datestamp. A most attractive cover and an extremely scarce make up of this 1/1d rate. Very fine. Ex Serendib and Hackmey. 2002 R.P.S. Cert.
