AHWAZ. 1917 censored registered commercial envelope to Cambridge, England, bearing a pair of 1a and a 2a6p, paying the 2a postage and the 2a6p registration, cancelled AHWAZ 5 DEC 17. A registration label with AHWAZ handstamped in the box and a straight line violet 'Registered' handstamp are on the front of the cover. On the back is a virtually complete 'BANK OF PERSIA / AHWAZ' red wax seal. A very scarce registered cover from this office.

LINGA. 1920 registered envelope to Zanzibar franked on the back with a ½ Anna and a 4 Anna, paying the 2a6p postage and 2a registration, tied by LINGA 8 MA 20 datestamps. On arrival in Zanzibar (AP 24) the cover was forwarded to BAHRAIN with cancels of 26 MAY and 3 JUN 20. A 'Not known, return to sender' has been written in red ink on the front of the cover and it arrived back in Bombay where a boxed 'D.L.O. BOMBAY 24 JLY 20' datestamp was applied. A very interesting and rare cover.
1861 envelope ti Inverness, Scotland, franked with an India 4 Anna and 2 Anna, tied by barred numeral '124' cancels of Aden. On the back of the cover are ADEN - STR - POINT DE 27 DE 61 and Inverness JA 14 62 datestamps.

MOHAMMERA. 1909 India 2 Annas 6 Pies envelope to Bombay cancelled MOHAMMERA 6 MAR 09. A Bombay 13 MA 09 arrival c.d.s. is on the back of the envelope. Mohammera is now known as Khorramshahr, and lies to the south east of Basra, and 10 kms north of Abadan in Iran.

ABADAN. 1915 censored envelope to Edinburgh, bearing a 2A6p cancelled ABADAN 9 FE 22. On the back is a red Passed Censor 'D' handstamp. A scarce cover from this port town at the most northerly point of the Persian Gulf in Iran.
BUSHIRE. 1916 censored cover to India bearing a ½ and 2 Anna stamps of India cancelled Bushire 20 MA 16. A violet 'Passed Censor 4 Bombay' hand stamp is on the front of the cover, on the back is an Opened By Censor label and an arrival c.d.s. 31 MA 16.
1917 cover to Muscat with a pair of 1A and a ½A tied Linga 5 JA 17. A Muscat arrival c.d.s. 18 JA 17 is alongside.
MUSCAT. 1908 envelope to Bombay, franked on the reverse with a ½a, cancelled with a very fine strike of Muscat 18 NO 08 datestamp. A Bombay 21 NO arrival cancellation is alongside. Fine.
IRAQ. 1909 picture post card to Belgium of the Ashar, on the Creek near the Bridge, BASRA, franked with two ½A cancelled by the BUSRAH 5 NO 09 squared circle datestamp. A Louvain 27 NOV 09 arrival cancel also ties the stamps. Fine, and to an unusual destination.
