1907 Queensland - 1907 picture post card (S.S. Ortona) to New Zealand bearing a Queensland 1d tied by a straight line LOOSE SHIP LETTER handstamp. A LARGS BAY, S.A. NO 25 07 datestamp is on the card. The sender left Freemantle on November 21 and the card was written and posted on board the ship on November 23. It entered the Australian postal service when it was taken off at Largs Bay on November 25. Obviously Queensland stamps were being sold on the ship!
