1935 envelope to France, sent air mail, bearing a 1/-, 3d and 1½d cancelled BATHURST 4 MY 35. A large violet boxed 'GAMBIA – ENGLAND AIR MAIL' cachet is on the front of the cover. Endorsed D. H. L. the cover was sent Lufthansa via Las Palmas. On the back are transit and arrival cancels.
1904 envelope to a 'Cigar Merchant', Guernsey, Channel Islands, franked with a pair of ½d's cancelled BATHURST FE 16 04. Liverpool MR 12 and Guernsey MR 15 04 transit and arrival cancels are on the back. Nice destination.
1921 picture post card to Berne, Switzerland, with a 1d cancelled MACARTHY ISLAND 10 FE 21. A Bathurst 12 FE 21 transit cancel is on the back. Macarthy Island is an island located approximately 170 miles upriver from the mouth of the Gambia River, in eastern Gambia. A very scarce cancellation.
1931 picture post card (Gambia River with ships on) to London with a 1½d cancelled by the very scarce FATTOTO 14 MR 31 datestamp. A message is written on the picture side of the card. FATTOTO is a small village at the most easterly end of Gambia on the Gambia River. It is located in Kantora District in the Upper River Division. A very scarce cancellation.
1903 registered 2d envelope with an additional 2d added to pay the 4d registration rate to England, cancelled 15 JA 03. On the reverse are Registered London F.D.M. and Chester cancels of 3 FE and 4 FE 03.
