1822 entire letter headed 'Green Island' to Edinburgh with, on the back, a good strike of the very rare straight line GREEN - ISLAND / JA handstamp. This (Proud PS4) handstamp was only recorded used between September 1821 and July 1822 and Proud rates it at 4000 points. A Jamaica 6 JY fleuron cancel is on the back of the entire, on the front is an arrival cancel of AUG 16 1822. The contents of the letter deal with estate matters. A very rare Jamaica item.
