1889 2p registered envelope to Larnaca with a 1p stamp affixed and tied by a good strike of the very rare D49 barred numeral. This canceller was in use at the NICOSIA ARMY H. Q. from 1883 to 1892. A red Registered Cyprus AU 3 89 cancel is on the front, and on the reverse are Limassol AU 3 and Larnaca AU 4 89 transit and arrival cancels. A very fine and rare cover, very few D48 cancels being known used on envelope.
