1894 double rate cover to England, with the original contents, bearing a pair of 2½d tied by bootheel cancellers with BARBADOS NO 7 94 datestamps alongside. A violet straight line 'POSTED ON BOARD R.M.S.' handstamp cachet is on the front of the cover. The contents refer to” just missing the French mail boat so it would be posted on a British Packet.” The Royal Mail Steamer Packet operated the service between England and Bridgetown, Barbados, and thence to Castries, St Lucia. A very uncommon cachet.
