1898 cover sent registered to London with eight ½d's (strip of 5, strip of 3 and a single) paying the 4d registered rate, cancelled ST LUCIA 'L' MY 27 98. This canceller with the 'L' was used at Laborie, a village on the south coast of St Lucia, named after Baron de Laborie, who was the French governor of St Lucia from 1784 – 1789. A Castries transit datestamp is on the back of the cover and a London 8 JU 98 arrival c.d.s. is on the front. A scarce cover from this village.
