1900 (Nov) damaged envelope to England with the stamp missing and a partial ARMY POST OFFICE cancellation that has a red “RECOVERED FROM MAIL / LOOTED BY THE ENEMY” cachet applied to the front of the cover. A London 3 DE 00 transit cancel is on the front and a South Shields arrival c.d.s. is on the back. The cover has been damaged, as a result of the treatment it received when in the hands of the Boers.
