HOWICK BURGHER CAMP. 1901 envelope franked with a Natal 1d cancelled HOWICK OC 31 1901. As the envelope was sent unsealed, it didn't receive a censor handstamp. However it was censored when it passed through Pretoria. On the back are Pietermaritzburg 1 NO, Pretoria 5 NOV and Middelburg 6 NOV 01 transit and arrival cancels. This cover is from the known 'Miss Hopkins' correspondence and was written by Mrs Burgher, who had just arrived in the Howick Burgher Camp. In a previous letter, written a few days earlier to Miss Hopkins, she wrote to say they were all well. An interesting cover.
