1916 censored 3d Registered Envelope (H&G 16) to Auckland, New Zealand, with a 4d added, cancelled VAVAU 26 SEP 16. A triple ring oval ‘Registered at Vavau, Tonga’ with the number ‘64’ in manuscript is on the front of the cover. The cover was opened and resealed by the censor on arrival in New Zealand and a red ‘PASSED BY THE / MILITARY CENSOR / N.Z.’ handstamp applied. On the reverse is an Auckland 9 OC 16 arrival c.d.s. Fine and very uncommon.
