1917 censored envelope to Windhuk bearing a South Africa Kings Head 1d cancelled by a very good strike of the rubber single circle REHOBOTH RAIL 17 MAY 1917 datestamp in black green. (Putzel B 1a. He states “Good impressions are rare”! and gives it 3200 points.) The cover was opened and resealed by bilingual 'Field Censor' tape. On the back is a Windhuk 19 MAY 17 arrival c.d.s. A fine example of this scarce canceller.
