1927 cover to Port Swettenham, Malaya, with an India 2A tied by a fine violet boxed RANGOON – PENANG FIRST AIR MAIL APRIL 1927 handstamp. Alongside is a RANGOON 31 MAR 27 datestamp. Penang 2 AP and Port Swettenham 3 AP 27 transit and arrival cancels are on the back. This flight, with Neville Vincent as pilot flew from Rangoon to Tavoy (where he overnighted) then Tavoy to Mergui and Penang. Although 350 items of mail were flown, only 16 have been recorded to date. A rare first flight cover.
