1939 censored envelope to Tasmania franked with a vertical strip of three ½d's tied by GENERAL POST OFFICE, OCEAN ISLAND 27 SEP 39 datestamps. A fine violet PASSED BY CENSOR straight line handstamp is on the front of the cover along with a Launceston 18 OCT 39 arrival cancel. This censor strike was only used for the first couple of months of the war (September and October 1939) and is very seldom seen.
