1950 registered envelope to Gosforth, Newcastle, bearing a vertical strip of four U.P.U. 2D, cancelled REGISTERED GIBRALTAR 7 JA 50. A registration label with the letter 'A' inserted by hand before the number (Army?) is on the front of the cover. On the back is a green customs label with the contents as 'Stockings'. The label has been tied by a circular Customs and Excise handstamp with a crown in the middle. An unusual multiple franking of the U.P.U. stamp.
