1951 envelope to Durban with a 2d cancelled CAPE TOWN 14 X 1951. A straight line violet 'SALVAGED CRASHED PLANE 15 / 10 / 51. is on the front of the cover. This cover was on the South African Airways Dakota “Paardeberg” that crashed into Mount Engeli near Kokstad whilst en route between Port Elizabeth and Durban. All passengers and crew perished. A fine cover from this scarce air crash.
