1938 PT. REYES, CA. On November 29 1938, the United Airlines flight from Seattle To Los Angeles ran out of fuel 430 miles short of its’ destination. The plane landed in the sea and was washed up on a beach off Point Reyes. The pilot was unhurt, but the co-pilot drowned.
