U.S.A. The T.W.A. flight from Los Angeles to New York crashed when the DC 3 struck a tree with its’ wing during a steep turn when flying close to the ground. The pilot Capt. P. W. T. Scott was killed along with two passengers. 12 were injured. Recovered mail, which was all damaged, received an
explanatory printed slip. This damaged cover is from San Bernadino (Jan 22) to New York. (Stanford Ref 410123)
