1955 HOLLYWOOD, S.C. On December 17, 1955, the Riddle Airlines Aircraft Curtiss C-46A exploded in mid-air near Hollywood, South Carolina, while en route from New York to Miami, Florida. The all-cargo plane exploded in mid-air and the pilots were killed. The plane carried a large amount of Christmas and ordinary mail for Florida residents. This manuscript explanation is uncommon, most mail getting a two line h/s.
