KATHERINE RIVER. On 18 January 1939 the Guinea Airways plane “Koranga” hit a tree on take off from Katherine, near Darwin, and crashed into the Katherine River killing all four crew members. This cover from Catterick Camp in Yorkshire to Freemantle in Western Australia has an explanatory label, printed and affixed in Perth.
