1946 LE BOURGET. On 4 September 1946 an Air France Douglas DC 3 airliner crashed on take off at Le Bourget Airport, Paris. It crashed into a factory, killing 19 of the 26 crew and passengers. Salvaged mail was badly burned. This cover from Douai, France, has been forwarded in an ambulance cover to Slough, England. The ambulance cover has an explanatory cachet.
