A 1944 air letter from High Wycombe to Italy, posted 20 MCH 1944 that was in a plane carrying mails for Canadian servicemen that was bought down over the Mediterranean Sea. A ‘SALVAGED FROM AIR CRASH’ cachet is on the front of the air letter, which has been badly damaged by both fire and sea water.
