1939 BRITISH AIRWAYS AT VORDINGBORG, DENMARK. On 15 August 1939 a British Airways Lockheed Electra was on the London – Amsterdam – Copenhagen – Malmo – Stockholm flight when approaching Copenhagen a fire broke out. The pilot landed the plane in the sea near Storstroem Bridge. He managed to escape but the passengers all died. The badly damaged mail was recovered the following day and eventually forwarded. This cover from Birmingham to Vasteras, Sweden, was forwarded in a transparent ambulance envelope with an explanatory note, printed in Malmo. Very uncommon.
