U.S.A. / BRAZIL / PUERTO RICO On the 3rd October 1941 the Pan American Airways flight from Miami to Rio De Janeiro nosedived into the water when landing at San Juan, Puerto Rico. The mail was all water soaked and dried out there, where an ACCIDENTE DE AVIAO cachet was applied. On arrival in Rio De Janeiro a further ‘Received in Damaged Condition’ h/s was applied.
