1940’s WWII cover to England with a 3d tied by a POST OFFICE / MARITIME MAIL machine cancel in red. A boxed censor cachet is at the lower left with the censors’ initials, ‘C G T’ in manuscript. The sender was Surgeon Captain Perkins, Ascension’s medical officer. In all probability the cover went to London via the Navy Fleet Mail Office in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
