1852 envelope and original letter to Philadelphia, USA, with a fine strike of the PAID AT BARBADOS crown circle in red. The letter is headed Bridge Town 11 November 1852. On the front are ‘Pre Paid’ and’ Pr Steamer’ m/s endorsements and a m/s 1/- in red ink denoting amount paid. A ‘STEAMSHIP 10’ h/s is on the front of the cover, on the back are BARBADOES NO 11 1852 and ST THOMAS NO 14 1852 cancels. The 1/- paid a ½ oz rate. A most appealing cover.
