1881 cover to London with a 4d tied by a ‘bootheel’ cancel with a BARBADOS 9 NO 81 datestamp alongside. A London Paid 29 NO 81 arrival c.d.s. is on the front of the cover. The 4d rate came into effect on 1 September 1881 when Barbados joined the U.P.U. and the rate was reduced from 6d to 4d per ½ oz.
