1916 4d Duty registered envelope to Mafeking with 7 x 2d added cancelled MOCHUDI 13 JUN 16. This letter would have contained bank notes and would have been insured for between £72 & £84, at a rate of 2d per £12 which was the insured rate in South Africa at that time, and would probably have been the equivalent in Bechuanaland. An amount of £70+ in bank notes would mean that this would have been a double, if not quadruple rate cover. At a double rate then the insurance value would have been £72-£84, if a quadruple rate, then the insurance would have been for £60-£72. In all probability it would have been the later. A very interesting cover.
