1942 cover sent registered air ai to Providence, USA posted 2.1.42 at Lyon, that was held by the British Censors in Bermuda for the duration of the War. Two violet HELD BY BITISH / CENSOR R’LD JANUARY 1946 cachets are on the cover (Flynn Type 4) along with a black ‘RELEASED’ h/s. The cover has Opened by Examiner 3443 tape at the left with ‘I. C.’ in manuscript. On the reverse are New York 3.5.46 and Providence MAR 6 1946 transit and arrival backstamps.
