1866 double rate cover to London endorsed ‘pr Mail via Halifax’ with a pair of 1/-‘s cancelled by a barred obliterator with a BERMUDA ‘H’ 4 AU 66 PAID datestamp to the left. A London 27 AU 66 arrival c.d.s. is in the front of the cover. The ‘H’ in the canceller indicates it was sent from Hamilton. A red 1/10 denotes the amount to be credited to the English Post Office, the other 2d paid the internal postage rate. The rate then was 1/- per ½ oz so this letter would have weighed 1oz. Minor cover faults not affecting the stamps.
