1900 censored cover to England with a Transvaal 2½d cancelled PRETORIA 20 APR 00. A blue GEZIEN CENSOR 20 APR 1900 is on the front of the cover, sent by Major S Humphrey, 1st Gloucester Regiment. He fought in the battle of Nicholson’s Nek on 30th October 1899 and was taken prisoner there when the British forces surrendered. It appears as though there was a censor label at the right of the cover that was removed and left some staining there.
