1900 cover to Folkstone, England, sent from a Prisoner of War, Major J Walter, who was taken prisoner by the Boers at the Battle of Colenso on December 15 1899. The cover has a 2½d stamp, cancelled PRETORIA 30 MR 1900. It was censored with Z. A. R. tape on the back. Lorenco Marques 3 AP and Folkstone AP 28 00 transit and arrival cancels are on the back. Unusual that this cover was censored and resealed with tape. Normally British Officer’s mail from the Watervaal Camp received a Commandant General cachet. An interesting cover.
