MAFEKING SIEGE. 1900 cover to Ireland with two pairs of 3d correctly paying the 1/- rate that went by way of the Northern route. The stamps have been individually cancelled MAFEKING AP 10 00. Crocodile Pools 25 AP, Bulawayo 30 AP and Comber 9 JU 00 transit and arrival cancels are on the back. The lower left stamp has a little damage at the base, but this does not detract from it being a scarce cover via the Northern route, sent 37 days before the relief force arrived there. It would have been taken by a native runner out of Mafeking.
