1906 cover sent registered to Paris, France, and then forwarded on arrival, with a 2d LEVANT overprint (SG L4) and a 1 Piastre on 2d provisional (SG 15) with LEVANT overprint, both tied by a REGISTERED BEYROUT 3 JY 06 oval cancel. An interesting registration h/s with a circular ‘R’ and ‘FEE PAID’ is on the front of the cover, Port Said 10 VII, Paris and St Jean d’Aulps 17 JU 06 cancels are on the back. A few minor cover faults, but a very rare usage of this provisional stamp on a commercial cover (S.G. £700 x 3)
