Cape of Good Hope

1903 1d postal card to Germany tied by a good strike of the TABASE AU 7 03 ‘916’ duplex canceller. Tabase is in Tembuland and was established as a station of the Mission Board of the Moravian Church in 1873. The post office opened in 1896. This hamlet is literally in the middle of nowhere, mid way between Mount Frere and Port St John. A very seldom seen and fine ‘proving’ card for this ‘916’ numeral canceller.
