1893 1½d postal card to Holland cancelled by a barred numeral ‘783’ with a BAZIYA DE 28 93 cancel at the lower left. Queenstown JA 1 94 transit and Zeist 23 JAN 94 arrival cancels are on the front of the card. A fine ‘proving’ card for this numeral cancellation. Baziya is a very small village in the Eastern Cape interior, 120 miles east – northeast of Queenstown, the nearest major town. Uncommon.
