1882 cover sent registered to Devonport, England, with a ‘3’ on 3d, a 1d and a 6d paying the 10d rate (4d registration and 6d postage) the stamps tied by barred diamond numeral ‘6’ cancels, with a DU TOITS PAN SP 1 82 datestamp alongside. A straight line ‘REGISTERED’ h/s is on the front of the cover, on the back is a Devenport 27 SP 82 arrival c.d.s. This letter would have been carried on the Conway Castle that sailed from Cape Town on September 5th. An appealing cover.
