1908 unsealed cover to Georgetown with a manuscript provisional ‘Pd ¼ W.G.McC’ and a GEORGETOWN OC 16 08 datestamp. Due to a shortage of ¼d stamps in October 1908 the postmaster William Graham McCausland and his assistant Miss Gwendolyn Parsons reintroduced manuscript payment until the arrival of a fresh supply of stamps. A fine example of this manuscript provisional.
