1857 letter sheet to Bombay, endorsed ‘Per Steamer from Galle’ with a 10d dull-vermilion, clear to large margins all round, tied by a barred oval obliterator. On the back is a COLOMBO STEAMER LETTER OC 29 1857 dispatch cancel and a Bombay NO 5 1857 arrival c.d.s. A fine and very early item from Ceylon, the stamps only issued there in July 1857. R.P.S. certificate.
