PERU. 1872 folded letter to Gironde, France, with a G.B. 10d and a Peru 1 dineiro each tied by fine C38 cancels with a CALLAO MR 14 72 datestamp alongside the Peruvian stamp. A boxed G.B. 1F 90c accountancy mark indicates the amount the British Post Office was paid and a ‘15’ h/s denotes the amount the recipient was charged. London and Calais AP 12, and Bordeaux AP 13 transit cancels are on the letter. The 10d rate was for a letter not exceeding a ½ oz to France. Extremely fine in every respect.
