SPITFIRE FUND. 1942 censored envelope sent air mail to Egypt with a 1/- and 2/- cancelled BATHURST 18 MY 42. An ‘Opened by Examiner 5524 label has been affixed at the left. On the back of the cover is a ‘GAMBIA SPITFIRE FUND’ label, that has been tied to the cover by a Cairo receiver censor cachet. A very fine example of this rare label, particularly as it is tied to the cover and going to an uncommon destination.
