1942 censored cover to U S Army A.P.O. 709 with two 1d’s cancelled by the scarce POST OFFICE MARAKEI canceller (Proud D3) that was only in use for a short time. A ‘Passed By Censor No. 8’ h/s is on the front of the cover. There are no other cancels giving dates but the only listing for A.P.O 709 was at Guadalcanal in 1942. A fine and very uncommon cover.
