1845 folded letter to London, endorsed ‘Private Steamer’ then redirected to Hampshire, with a fine four margined 1d red, lettered A C neatly tied by a barred ‘324’ cancel of Guernsey with a GUERNSEY AU 4 1845 datestamp along with a blue SOUTHAMPTON / SHIP LETTER h/s on the back. A small hole where the address has been scratched through for redirection that does not detract from this appealing letter that opens out well for display.
