1841 outer wrapper to Glasgow with a good to large margined 1d black, Plate 1b, lettered F A with double letter ‘F’ tied by a purple-maroon Maltese Cross of Newton Stewart. On the back is a boxed NEWTON STEWART 26 JA 1840 datestamp in the same purple-maroon colour. Two vertical filing creases but a rare entire from this town.
