1874 hand made cover sent registered to New York from the well documented Busk & Jevons correspondence, endorsed ‘Per Cunard Stmr’ with the spectacular franking of a strip of three 5/- pale rose, Plate 1, a 2/-, 1/- Plate 9 and two 4d, Plate 13, paying a 18/8d rate, all tied by barred numeral ‘466’ cancels with a REGISTERED LIVERPOOL 15 AU 74 datestamp beneath. A Thornley & Dismore, Solicitors, 14 Water Street Liverpool senders oval marking is on the front of the
cover. On the back are wax seals and ribbon and a New York AU 26 arrival c.d.s. Cover creasing, which every cover in this correspondence has due to the nature and size of these ‘covers’. A wonderful cover from this well known correspondence, the scan not doing it justice as the grey in the cover is distorted by the scanning and looks, but isn't, dark in places..
