1887 O.H.M.S. Foreign Office parcel label to His Britannic Majesty’s Consul, Samoa, with GOVT PARCELS overprinted 2d, 6d and a strip of three 1/- tied by a large boxed PARCEL POST LONDON CHIEF OFFICE E.C. with a manuscript 3/8 and an undated G.P.O. DEPOT cancel. The label has been signed ‘Salisbury’ at the upper right on the front. Salisbury was the Prime Minister at the time this was sent. A very rare franking, probably unique to Samoa and a rare high franking label. A major exhibition piece.
