1873 folded letter to Australia, written from FOOCHOW, endorsed ‘Via Galle’ with a vertical strip of three 24c, paying the triple rate, tied by barred ‘B62’ obliterators. On the back are HONG KONG JY 11 73 dispatch and Melbourne AU 27 73 arrival cancels. A fine letter from this well known Nicholson correspondence from Foochow. The majority of the letters from this correspondence were sent at the 24c rate, a few at the 48c double rate and even fewer at this 72c triple letter rate.
